Basic Attention Token (BAT) Joins Binance Smart Chain
Basic Attention Token (BAT)- the native token to Brave privacy browser, is now available on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) as wrapped BAT. BAT is natively built on the Ethereum blockchain and continues to circulate on that Chain, which means that the original token can be easily exchanged for a BSC-based BAT token of equal value.
This decision will allow BAT holders to participate in BSC-based projects like PancakeSwap and BakerySwap for trading, Beefy Finance for yield optimization, and others, including Venus, DODO OpenOcean, and Autofarm.
With this strategic integration, “ we will introduce seamless UX together for crypto users to access DeFi and Dapps in BSC and other blockchains”, said Xiaoguang Zhang- Binance Smart Chain Ecosystem Coordinator.
The decision appears to meet the growing need of escaping Ethereum’s high transaction fees. Brave CEO Brendan Eich says that the firm is enthusiastic about Binance Chain’s “low transaction fees and scalability.” The announcement also suggests that Brave is exploring BSC to enable P2P tipping within the Brave browser.
However, it is not clear when the feature will go live. But the Brave browser’s built-in wallet already supports both Ethereum and BSC, and more comprehensive support is expected later this year.
Brave browser is the first client and gateway to a utility for the BAT token. Brave has over 25M monthly active users (MAU) and over 9M daily active users (DAU). BAT has around 3.8M monthly transacting users and over 13M Brave/BAT Rewards wallets with its tremendous utility.
